ACTS Historical Account
Activating Christ Throughout Society Ministry began in 1992 in Clear Lake, TX where Rodney & Sharon ministered in local revivals throughout Houston area, as well as sending the “Voice of Love and Healing” monthly newsletter to family and friends.
In 1998, the Logan’s moved to Phoenix, AZ knowing that they were called to begin a work for the Lord here.
On February 25, 2004 – Pastors Rodney & Sharon Logan fasted for forty days to seek the Lord about His direction for ACTS Ministry. The Lord directed them to Maricopa, AZ
Summer 2004 – Pastors Rodney & Sharon Logan began a small group bible study of the life of Joseph in their home. It was called “I have a dream.”
November 7, 2004 – A practice run of the first service that was scheduled to begin on 11/14/04 was held with the charter 4 families. To everyone’s surprise, there were visitors on that day.
November 14, 2004 – ACTS Christian Center’s first official service was held at the Maricopa High School Summit building.
In 2005, Leap to Womanhood (LTW) youth girls group was formed. This group was focused on developing the whole person of the young ladies through biblical studies and life skills development training.
ACTS continued weekly Sunday services at the MHS in the Summit as well as children church in the MHS auditorium for four years.
In 2007, ACTS began holding midweek bible study and LTW in the Faith House.
In the Summer of 2008, ACTS relocated temporarily into the Faith House on Backus Street in Rancho El Dorado due to MHS construction.
In the Fall of 2008, ACTS moved into the Santa Rosa Elementary School for Sunday morning worship service, while the Faith House was used for midweek activities.
In 2009, ACTS relocated the Faith House to another location within Rancho El Dorado, Wade Street.
As time progressed and the church continued to grow, ACTS began searching for a more permanent location.
In 2011, ACTS relocated to the beautiful edifice where all services are presently held. It has become known to all as The Faith Center.
ACTS is a ministry with a passion to show grace and love to lost and hurting people. We have a heart to serve the Maricopa community with the love of Jesus Christ and endeavor for everyone that is called to this ministry to catch the vision of Activating Christ throughout Society through acts of Love.
We are a family of believers where everyone is welcome because we truly love and respect others because we are all apart of God’s community.
